Councillor Dave Wilson
Labour Candidate for Barton


Dave is a retired international management consultant, trainer and property specialist. A committed volunteer, he is a trustee of the Westgate Hall and former trustee of Canterbury Citizens Advice and Kent Savers. He sits on Littlebourne & Stodmarsh Road Resident’s Association and writes a weekly article for the Canterbury Journal.

Dave is a an experienced change manager and believes that these skills are essential in ensuring Labour achieve our aim of making our Council genuinely responsive to the needs of residents. He has served on the board of Kent Savers’ since 2013, is treasurer of Westgate Hall Community Trust and sits on the committee of the Campaign for Democracy In Canterbury, which drove the change from the hated City Council Cabinet to a Committee system.

He was elected to Canterbury City Council in 2015 as a representative for Barton ward with Pat Edwards and Connie Nolan. 

Dave sits on the Policy Committee, Appointments Sub Committee and Governance Committee. He is Labour’s Lead Councillor for the Corporate Plan, Digital Transformation and Communications.

He is the Leader of the Canterbury Labour Group.
